Heartfelt Thanks - Flowers

Hi Crafty friends ๐Ÿ’•

I hope you are doing great.

Today I got you a simple card, I love to color my stamped images with watercolor, so this is one of them. I enjoyed creating the card while hearing the beautiful song "Flowers" by Miley Cyrus. I truly think this kind of lyrics can empower women to express themselves, embrace their individuality, and resist social expectations in a healthy way.

I used the basic range of DRK crafts to create this card and Faber Castell watercolor.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

May the 4th Be with You: Celebrating "Star Wars" Day

Hello Crafty friends!

May the 4th Be with You ๐ŸŒŸ

May 4th is a special day for "Star Wars" fans around the world as it marks the celebration of "Star Wars" Day. The phrase "May the 4th be with you" is a play on the iconic "May the Force be with you" line from the beloved sci-fi saga. On this day, enthusiasts of all ages come together to express their love for the franchise in creative ways. And what better way to commemorate this epic occasion than through the art of watercolor and handmade cards?

So, today  I'll showcase three stunning handmade "Star Wars" Day cards crafted using watercolor, each capturing the magic and spirit of this legendary universe.

The Galactic Adventure: Using a palette of deep blues and vibrant purples, the first card takes us on simple admiration of the journey through the cosmos. A watercolor-rendered Yoda contemplating the stars and distant galaxies. Paired with a fitting quote that commemorates May 4th.

The loving Chewbacca: For the fans who feel a deep connection with the Chewbacca way, this card encapsulates the kind and wisdom associated with this noble character. The card depicts Chewbacca as a funny hairy thing with a loving side, holding a bunch of flowers.

The Droid's Delight: Bringing a touch of whimsy and cuteness to "Star Wars" Day, the third card features the lovable droid. Crafted with cheerful yellows, oranges, and browns, the card portrays the droid running to find countless adventures. Splashes of metallic watercolor add a touch of brilliance to their metallic surfaces, enhancing his charm. The card's dark tone is complemented by a playful quote.

"Star Wars" Day is a time to revel in the magic of a galaxy far, far away, and express our appreciation for this cultural phenomenon that has captivated generations, by creating these handmade watercolor cards, I not only celebrate the "Star Wars" universe but I also join the fans in the celebration day!

So, this May 4th, pick up your crafty goodies, let your creativity flow, and immerse yourself in the forceful joy of "Star Wars" Day! May the 4th be with you! ๐Ÿš€

Bow card - Template ๐Ÿ’– Tutorial

Hello Crafty Friends!

Hope you are well and happy. ๐Ÿ’“ Today's project is a stunning 3D bow card.
( I add the template at the bottom of the post for you to have a go ).

To create this original card you will need:
Centura Pearl Snow White
Sheena Stamping cardstock
Gemini Clear Stamp - Words of Endearment
Roaring 20's Paper pad by Crafter's Companion
Stazone Jet Black Ink pad
Die'sire Classiques Metal Die - Parisian Mirror
Distress ink abandoned Coral
Dabbers
Collall Glue
Iridescent gems
Craft Essentials.

Step by Step

1.- Die cut 4 small ovals,  4 large ovals and the ribbon strip out of a floral sheet from the Roaring 20's paper pad. Add a light shadow around the borders by using the distress ink.

2.- Bend carefully each oval. You can use a thick pen or another cylindrical object to shape the middle area of your bow. You aim for a nice rounded curve, not a sharp fold. Glue the endings together to form a loop.

3.- Stamp the sentiment onto a Shenna cardstock. Die cut with the small die from the Parisian mirror sie set. Die cut the Parisian mirror 3 times more. Glue them together. Add the sentiment on the top. This will create a sturdy centre for the bow.

3.- Add the loops in the back of the sentiment. Starting with the small ones and attach the large ones behind them as shown. Use a strong adhesive!

4.- Cut the Ribbon strip in two. Add each piece to behind the side of the bow, as shown.

5.- With the bow done, just create a blank to affix the bow in the front.

6.- To finish add some gems, around the sentiment and in the corners of the blank.

Tips: Substitute the centre for an oval or circle shape with images or sentiments.  to have different samples of bow cards.
