Homemade Cold Porcelain

I have got several years working with cold porcelain, it has been used in a lot of my projects. The great thing about it is that you can make it yourself, it is easy and cheap. For me is far better than polymer clay.  There is no need to put the cold porcelain in the oven and also its non-toxic!! .The cold porcelain produce very durable results,  is very nice to work with and can be easily coloured.
Some people cook the douhg ! if you want to do it there are plenty of tutorials in youtube..

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240ml) of cornstarch/ corn flour
  • 1 cup (240ml) of PVA glue (PVA for Wood)
  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar/ lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of baby oil
  • Hand lotion (use in your hands durng the knead)

There are some tutorials on YouTube demonstrating the stove method.

Mix together well and knead until smooth and elastic, adding more starch or glue if necessary. Wrap it tightly and store in an airtight container. You can add a little white oil paint , to give it a white colour when it dries. Otherwise, it will be translucent and kind of yellowish if left uncoloured.

You can start  using it the next day!! Remmenber to use oil paint (colour choice is up to you)  to colour the dough before start modelling.

Decorative pictures for a newborn.

This is such a beautiful time of life. The new addition to a family, the joy, the love, the cuteness.  I made these pictures for a room of twins!! Welcome Luis & Valentino.

I made these pictures with funky foamy, canvas and texture medium.

I cut the designs from a page which contains pictures of cute animals.

I used the texture medium to create the rough frame

Finally I painted the sides of the rough framed canvas with pastel chalk in two colours.
I redid the designs from funky foam then I colored  the cut-outs with my  Promarkers and I glued the pieces with hot silicon.

Bird Houses

I bought  a couple of  wooden bird houses and I have decorated them with Decoupage technique. I painted the houses with vibrant colours, them I just cut out some nice graphics of little animals and paste on it with glue for Decoupage.

Now I can't wait to hang them in my garden.

Recycled Denim Cushions

This cushion has been made from recycled denim jeans.

This is charming and funny. I love creative furnishings.

It’s almost like putting a “sit here” sign on a sofa.
